Practical Information – Everything You Need to Know

How to Get to Vodice

By car: Motorway A1 Zagreb–Split, exit Šibenik, then main road D8 to Vodice (about 4.5 h from Zagreb)

By bus: Regular lines from Zagreb, Split and Zadar. Bus station in the centre of Vodice.

By plane: Nearest airports are Split (90 km) or Zadar (65 km). Shuttle services available.

By ferry: Ferries from Italy dock in Split or Zadar, with regular bus connections from there

Currency and Payment

Croatian currency is the euro (€). ATMs are located in the centre of Vodice and near major supermarkets. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but smaller restaurants and markets may require cash.

Climate

Vodice has a typical Mediterranean climate — hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The swimming season runs from June to September. July and August are the hottest months with average temperatures around 30 °C and sea temperatures of 25–27 °C.

Food and Drink

Local cuisine is based on fresh fish, seafood, olive oil and local wine. We recommend date mussels (prstaci), mussels buzara-style, black risotto and peka (lamb or octopus slow-cooked under the bell). A meal at a konoba costs between €15 and €35 per person.
