Kornati Islands – A Labyrinth of Stone

Kornati National Park comprises 89 uninhabited islands, islets and reefs — a paradise for sailing, diving and escaping civilisation. Boat tours depart from Vodice.

The Kornati Islands form the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean — 89 mostly uninhabited islands and islets scattered like stone arrows across the Šibenik archipelago. George Bernard Shaw described them as "the most beautiful archipelago on Earth," and that assessment still holds today. It is the only natural ensemble where sea, stone and sky merge in perfect harmony.

What Awaits You at Kornati

Diving and snorkelling along coral and shell reefs with pristine sea floors

Sailing through narrow channels between reefs and islands

Lunch at a floating fish restaurant or konoba anchored in a cove

Swimming in hidden coves with no one around but you and the sea

Exploring old fishing huts and bizarre caves on the shorelines

Boat Tours from Vodice

Boat excursions to Kornati depart from Vodice or Šibenik and last a full day. A typical trip includes sailing through the archipelago, diving or snorkelling at selected spots, lunch at an anchored konoba, and return by sunset. Autocamp Ivona can recommend trusted local operators offering tours at fair prices.

Practical Information

Entering Kornati NP requires purchasing a day pass paid through the tour operator or online. You cannot visit the park in your own boat without a pass. We recommend high-factor sunscreen, a hat and extra water as there is no shade on the islands.
