Dalmatian Hinterland – Land of Wine, Olive Oil and Roman Heritage
Step away from the sea and discover the Dalmatian hinterland — wine-growing country, ancient Krka, Krka Monastery and peaceful nature within 30–60 km of the camp.
The Dalmatian hinterland hides unspoilt landscapes, ancient towns and traditional gastronomy that rarely makes it onto tourist itineraries. Just an hour's drive from Autocamp Ivona, a completely different Dalmatia opens up — a land of olive groves, vineyards, the scent of sage and stone villages a thousand years old.
Krka Monastery
Set on a small island in the middle of the Krka River canyon, Krka Monastery is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in this part of Europe. Founded in the 14th century, it is an active monastery today with a museum collection of church manuscripts and gold jewellery. A visit combined with canyon sightseeing makes for an extraordinary experience.
Wine Road of the Šibenik Hinterland
Šibenik-Knin County is known for its indigenous varieties Debit and Babić. Many family wineries offer tastings and direct farm sales. We recommend visiting Skradin, a small town by the Krka estuary, which has a lively culinary scene with traditional Dalmatian specialities.
